Liberals gleaning Fla. votes, one by personal one
Groups that bypass campaign finance restrictions go door to door, hoping to boost Democratic totals.

ORLANDO - A worn screen door opened amid the barracks-style apartments in Lake Mann Homes. From the stoop Immacula Nezier launched into her pitch with a sleek Palm device in one hand and a clipboard in the other.

"Hi, I'm with ACT, America Coming Together," she said in a soft Haitian accent, while 30 colleagues fanned out through the public housing complex in Orlando. "We're going through the community to help people register to vote."

This is no aggressive early effort by the Democratic Party or the John Kerry presidential campaign. Rather, it's an unprecedented voter mobilization campaign under way by a host of well-funded, left-leaning political groups ostensibly operating on their own.

By mid May, six months before Election Day, hundreds of full-time and part-time paid staffers will be spread across Florida mobilizing Democratic voters to beat President Bush. By several accounts, the ranks will grow to more than 1,000 by late June and continue swelling from there

The group has registered more than 12,000 new voters in Miami-Dade since mid November and expects to spend at least $1-million in Florida between now and November.

1. Florida is..................
THE battleground state in 2004. Moveon et al. are saturating the air waves with ads condemning Bush. A whole lot of time and effort is going into the Florida vote, and this time (depending upon votes actually being counted) Bush is going DOWN!
I don't know about other states, but we're getting pummeled with anti-Bush ads down here. Early and often. Are any other battleground states getting the air play that Florida is?

5. Yeah, you aren't kidding...
Bush ads are everywhere...Moveon ads have faded off a lot and the new take back our country ads are about 33% as much as the Bush ones...

If money wins elections, Bush will win here, let's hope theres something else that counts...like love of country and busting our butts!

6. Here in SW FL we only see the Bush ads
Move On had ads on earlier this year, but I haven't seen one in ages. The Bush ads run all the time.

8. The Bush ads are so terrible
every time one runs, it probably turns off a handful more Independent voters. Meanwhile, each ad costs W more of his war chest.

7. ACT is targeting 17 states...
...according to their mailings. I haven't seen any news articles on the other states on the list.
