Report: F-B-I shadowed Kerry during his anti-war years
Los Angeles-AP -- John Kerry reportedly had a following in the 1970s -- but it wasn't one he wanted.

The Los Angeles Times says F-B-I agents followed Kerry across the country for months in 1971, when he helped to lead a prominent anti-war group.

The Times says the F-B-I ended the surveillance after finding no evidence of wrongdoing against Kerry, who got medals for his Vietnam War service.

Citing intelligence documents, the Times says the surveillance included following Kerry to anti-war rallies, monitoring his speeches and taking pictures of him with other activists.

1. If the FBI couldn't find anything then
I don't think that W's band of baboons will come up with anything compelling.

They'll have to lie.

2. But it's good to know they looked.
Kerry's clean. FBI checked him out.

Bet they couldn't say the same for George.

3. We know that!
We know that W has a drug bust in his past, and an AWOL. That's just for starters.

12. don't count on it....
They've already started smearing him with the VVAW assassination plot discussion, despite the fact that he resigned from the group because of the conversation. I expect the Bushistas to launch a "why didn't he report the plot to assassinate US Leaders to the authorities?" commercial soon...

And for a lot of "middle-America", being investigated can be twisted into a "guilty" plea in their minds. Remember, these are people who think the Fibbies are their friends.

It's going to get REALLY nasty, folks....

14. If they could find his resignation letter...this could go away...
..otherwise it will look like he quit the group, because of the domestic terrorism threats they made...that unfortunately gives credibility to the seriousness of the threats.

4. Doesn't this type of thing astound you
A combat veteran telling about War Crimes and useless deaths, being followed, surveiled and treated like a criminal.

Some one is doing the same thing to all of us here, who call the Chimpanzee a bunch of names.

6. It doesn't astound me..
Read up on the fbi (small caps intentional) on the Internet. Do google searches for "Women In Black", Ruby Ridge etc..

You'll come to understand who the domestic terrorists really are.

9. No I was married into that service life then
It was a joke and even service people were talking about sending their children to Canada. Also scuttlebutt was if you do go to a protect do not wear your uniform.

5. Kerry has pretty good company
Martin Luther King and many other "good guys" were targeted by the FBI in those days..... Maybe they were there when I got to shake Kerry's hand in Redding Ca. in 1972. I knew he was cool, but I had no idea that I was shaking hands with a future president of the US!

7. Of course they did
The Busheviks in charge then (they were Nixonvik in thosed days) are unchanged, and they are unchanged from Soviet or Nazi Totalitarians in everything except specific ideology (rationale for Tyranny) and overt racism (for the Nazis only).

10. the truth about the FBI and CIA

These two organizations were created to prevent true democracy
internally and externally.

From outright assassination to propaganda campaigns the FBI has waged
a war on domestic activism since the very beginning.

The same is true of the CIA in overseas operations.

11. I tend to largely agree with you on this one, elgato
These organizations have ALWAYS been meant to protect the interests of the wealthy.

If they happen to help a Filthy Little Nobody like us, it is purely concidence and must also serve their True Masters.

13. In defense of the Fibbies....
they HAVE done some good work, even if it was illegal.

The prime example of this in my mind is their treatment of the KKK during the 1960's. Of course, they violated the hell out of the Klukker's civil rights in the process, but in that situation I think it may have been a disgusting necessity.

I recently read an interview with one of the agents at the time, who stated they formed a "BAM" squad to deal with them..."By Any Means."
