Panel calls for Condoleezza Rice to appear
http://news.bostonherald.com/national/view.bg?articleid=1489

CAPITOL HILL - Members of the federal panel that's been looking into 9/11 say they're not hearing from everyone they want to hear from.

The panel has opened two days of hearings on the anti-terrorism efforts of the Bush and Clinton administrations before 9/11.

The ten-member panel had invited National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice to testify. She declined, with the White House citing concerns about separation of powers.

One panel member says that's not a good enough excuse.

43. "Separation of Powers" is just another excuse
that Nixon used during Watergate. If she had nothing to hide (namely just by telling the truth) then she wouldn't have to hide under this umbrella. Besides, it has nothing to do with the nature of the 9/11 investigation, but instead is provoked when something of national security interest can be breached. Basically it's bull! I wish the press core would have asked bush that very question, "Why can't Condi come forward and testify under oath?"

4. Concerns about separation of powers
She's concerned that she will be separated from her powers, and she should be.

After President Kerry is inagurated, she should be separated from her freedom for a long period of time to pay for her treason.

27. the panel referred to
the whore-mongering that KindaSleazy has been doing to refute Clarke's book:

Former Democratic Congressman Timothy Roemer also noted that Rice has been featured in the media disputing Clarke's claims. He suggests the debate shouldn't be played out in the media, but before the panel.

62. Snarf! It's amazing (and amusing) that they try to

discredit a man who worked eight years for Reagan, four years for Bush I, and two years for Bush II and talk about how they "kept him on" from Clinton. After twelve straight years working for Republican presidents, Clarke was kept on by a Democratic president for eight years. To me, that suggests that he is, like many civil servants, able to work with people of either party, i.e. not a party hack.

10. She's the freakin' National Security Advisor, for God's sake!!! Of course
she should testify,UNDER OATH, as should Chimp and Cheney, just as Clinton and Gore will be doing.
What the hell???
If she loves her country and its people, and truly wants to see justice done for the horrific attack on our nation, she would be eager, anxious, willing, and happy to testify in order to see that happen....IF she and the rest of the neocon-job thugs in this administration had been telling the truth from the outset.
But of course, we all know, and there is more than ample documentation and proof, that they are indeed the most crooked bunch of liars ever, and that they are toast either way:
Testify under oath and commit perjury and be vulnerable to impeachment OR testify under oath and be honest and admit what was known and when, thereby admitting culpability.
And of course, if Chimpy were truly interested in defending the people of this country against terrorism, he too would be bending over backwards to aid the commission.
It's a disgrace that they are behaving in this obstructionist fashion; it's an insult and an outrage not only to the survivors and the families of the victims, but to all of us who truly cherish freedom and truth.
I'm pissed, people....really really pissed.

Dorothy Height would push herself in her wheel chair to get to that Hearing

Rosa Parks would ride at the back of the bus to get there!

Condi,be brave!

Stop living the lie for these bigots.
They don't really care about people that look like you and me.
You are going to go down with this sinking ship,,,maybe your oil tanker if you don't get ahold of yourself girl!!!!

Go up there and testify, let the truth from your heart roll down like a mighty stream. Martin would smile down on you girlfriend.

Now, get up there and walk in with dignity and show them the woman that your momma and daddy raised.
We in the Black community would be proud of you!

SHE is really HE(Bush.) They know that she talks for him, talks into his ear piece, reads his paper for him, interprets any written communication directed to him. SHE is HE.

When they make her testify, that is tooo close to the Unpresident.
I am sure that they want to do any and every thing to keep her mouth shut.

I keep coming back to Watergate. Remember how Democrats had to keep the pressure on? It wastrue democracy in action!

At that time we did have brilliant minds asking the questions at the Hearings. Sam Irvin (sp.?).."What did you know and when did you know it?"
These committee members are not strong enough for my book. They are stalling and wasting precious time with their long winded questions.

,...and came off exactly as soft as I anticipated. None of the tough specific questions were asked. No analytical skepticism was shown. Everyone seemed to have their own "plans" in place and the whole thing appeared like a performance,...to me. The 9/11 families must have been particularly disappointed beyond the singular "play" concerning Rice going on record, under oath.

Our particularly opaque government is simply disgusting when it spouts "democracy" as its goal.
