Kindergartener caught sprinkling pot on friend's lunch.

A kindergartner's scattering leafy greens onto his friend's lasagna piqued a cafeteria worker's interest Monday and prompted a police investigation at a North Miami-Dade (Fla.) elementary school.

The mystery ingredient: marijuana.

The Late Night shows are gonna have a lot of fun with this one.

I can just see a 5 year old kid, lounged out in the corner, eating an entire can of Planter's Cheese Balls and listening to Bab Marley.

Boy, 4, takes crack to school
Head Start alerted IPD after child showed drug to other children.

A 4-year-old Head Start student brought $7,500 in crack cocaine to school in his backpack Monday, eagerly showing it to other students and explaining that it was flour, Indianapolis police said.
"Obviously, these parents aren't going to get any Parent of the Year awards," said Sgt. Roger Tuchek, of the Indianapolis Police Department.

"This could have killed these kids," he said. "A lot of kids were put at risk." The incident occurred at the Head Start program at 3637 N. Meridian St., which is run by Family Development Services. Teachers called police after seeing the boy show off the plastic bag with white clumps inside.

Each dose, called a "rock," costs about $20 on the street, Tuchek said. That means the boy had about 370 doses.

16. Eagerly showing it... explaining it was flour???
Why would a 4 year old get so excited about flour?

3. According to preliminary tests???
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 06:35 PM by XanthaS
I'll bet later tests prove the mystery ingredient was Oregano or something like that.

23. And just who is conducting the tests?
Janitor Bodean Wilcox and three of his friends conducted the test in a teal 1994 Chevy Impala parked in the lot of a 7-11.

.... well, not that I would know anything about it, but you'd have to be awfully hungry to not notice a gritty foul-tasting material on your lasagne :)

5. You gotta lightly fry it in butter first
And DON'T DISCARD THE BUTTER! That's where all the good stuff ends up.

Yummy. :)

8. Makes for delicious omelettes.
Add it to melted butter, stir, strain, and use the butter for omelettes. Now I love my green eggs and ham!

13. Heat-treatment is essential when cooking with it
Try low heat in a dry frying pan until it begins to brown and wisps of smoke appear-raw herb won't work in food--heat it first.

19. Yes, it must be cooked
to be potent. Eating raw marijuana won't get you high. That's why folks smoke it :]

the possesion of booze/pot/crack/flintstones vitamins???

10. Just a pretty silly mix up.
It's about as harmful as those flintstones vitamins. I feel sorry for the parents if they get in trouble.

15. Well an OD of Flintstone vitamins is toxic to kids also..
I would certainly not expect them to *fry in the electric chair* but I would expect a fine and or some community service.

Keep your pot up *high* where kids can't reach. No pun intended. ;)

Not at all.

As an almost lifelong potsmoker, I take GREAT pains to ensure my two children never have the opportunity to come across it.

That being said, I would feel no different if the children had gotten a hold of prescription meds, or even firearms.

Personal responsibility is my motto, and none of these parents have it.

Adults should be able to do what they want.

When it affects others, then we have a problem.

This kind of garbage gives the anti drug warriors so much ammo.

Stupid really.

14. Both these stories sound suspiciously apocryphal to me
They both feature similar story lines, and the net result is designed to show a breakdown od society where innocent children have access to drugs, due no doubt , to the lack of a gay marriage ammendment to the constitution.

Logically, what kid, if he HAD "oregano" assuming he knew what oregano was, would "take some to school to sprinkle on school lasagna" ?

The other one makes the leap that a parent who was a "crack" user would leave it casually lying around. Ever known a crack user? I have, and they usually smoke every last bit of any they have. If by some happenstance they felt they had "smoked enough" which is a highly dubious assumption in the first place, they would NOT let that rock out of their sight.

Sorry. It sounds like disinformation to provide TV preachers and moralists like James Dobson something to rail against to distract us from Chimpy finally getting his LIHOP plans exposed.

21. I knew a family in Texas that the parents...
The parents got in big trouble because they sent their kid to school to sell the stuff, the kid was in elementary school.

These people use to be friends of mine until I found out they did that stuff. I knew them for years before I even knew they did hard drugs. It was one day I went to visit and the kid told me the story that I found out the truth.

Thankfully the kid found a way out of the situation. A friend of mine and the families took the boy in and made sure he didn't get caught up in the stupid stuff again.

It happens everyday.

All we can do is make sure our children are well informed on the subject of drugs and their affect on the world.

This is what happens when republicans control the White House and both houses of Congress.
