WASHINGTON - The former counterterrorism adviser in the Bush and Clinton White Houses apologized Wednesday to the families of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, saying �your government failed you.�

1. Clarke strikes me as very sincere

I found his apology moving, and it is a stark reminder that NOBODY ELSE in this administration has taken a shred of responsibility.
