State's (CA) GOP boss, Bush camp huddle
WASHINGTON – President Bush and the Republican Party plan to spend "significantly more" than they did four years ago to try to win the Golden State in the November election, the California GOP chairman said yesterday.

Duf Sundheim was in Washington to present Bush campaign officials with his plan for securing the state's 55 electoral votes.

"We have a very strong governor, the issues are on our side, the registration is heading our way, the state party is much better organized. The only issue is whether that momentum is going to be enough to get us over the top in . . . November."

Waste a whole lot of money in California. All Kerry has to say is one word, just one little word.

6. Kerry can also bring up
The fact that Bush denied Gray Davis's request for funds to thin out dead wood from SoCal... funds that might have prevented a certain 500,000 acre wild fire.

2. Money to Burn
Spend away. About 100 million should narrow the gap to 5 points.

(Maybe we could just burn the money to fire up some of our mixed fuel 'peaker' plants.)

4. Fixing to steal California
Why not go for the big cheese, eh? If you're going to cheat, why not cheat big? That's the Bush mantra.

Spend lots of time and money in California. And maybe if you work really hard, you'll narrow your margin of defeat to 1 million votes instead of 1.3 million.

7. The Republicans in California seem very organized
They are always out registering voters and making noise, since before the recall.

Haven't seen the same from Democrats.
