CHICAGO - Republican Senate candidate Jack Ryan on Friday called on his opponent to stop other Democrats from questioning the content of sealed records stemming from Ryan's divorce.

Democrat Barack Obama, who won his party's nomination for the U.S. Senate, has said he will not bring up the issue of Ryan's divorce. But since the primary election, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has kept the issue alive by distributing news stories that discuss the issue.

"I think he's got to take it a step forward and say, 'Not only me, but none of the people who are supporting me will do it,'" Ryan said during a taping of WBBM-AM's "At Issue."

Ryan's strong early lead in the polls was tested in the final days of the campaign when Republican leaders and rivals publicly declared concern that records from Ryan's divorce with actress Jeri Ryan contained information that could damage him in a general election.

The fact is that he would never have to work again. He's worth approximately $100 million. He taught part-time in an inner-city, private prep-school, because he donated money to the school in exchange for the right to teach there. Chicago Public Schools would not hire him because he was not certified to teach and wasn't willing to go through the effort to get certified.

He's a complete jerk who cares nothing about inner-city kids or anyone else for that matter.
