Nader's Image Slips in Survey
Ralph Nader's stock appears to be in decline. A growing number of Americans say they hold unfavorable views of the maverick independent candidate today compared with in 2000, when he first ran for president, according to the University of Pennsylvania's National Annenberg Election Survey released yesterday.

The numbers: In 2000, 24 percent of the public had a favorable view of Nader and 24 held an unfavorable view. In 2004, 21 percent like Nader but 37 percent are in the unfavorable camp.

The slippage in Nader's public image cuts across demographic lines -- men, women, white, blacks, Latinos.

Liberals, among whom Nader drew most of his support in 2000, are now about evenly split about him (down from 33 percent favorable and 17 percent unfavorable in 2000). Republicans and conservatives have no gratitude toward the man either, despite a widespread sense that Nader drew votes that would have helped Al Gore defeat George W. Bush in Florida (42 percent in this group view him unfavorably, up from 33 percent in 2000).

1. No change here.
I've despised him for at least 20 years.

2000 was just a justification for the first 17 years of holding the fraud in contempt.

4. "Fool me once, Shame on you..."
"Fool me twice, uh, won't get fooled again..."

Chimpy said it, and it looks like it applies to King Ralph, too.

Hell, even Jimmy Carter doesn't want him to run, and Jimmy likes everybody.

Oh, I know, Kerry's "Too Corporate". What does that mean, exactly? does it mean he's gonna rape the national treasury and give it all to his rich corporate buds? does it mean he's gonna give lots of tax breaks to his big campaign contributors?
Too late. Bush already done screwed us all.

7. He already destroyed one of my nephews lives
Jonathan lies in Walter Reed, a quadraplegic from an Iraqui bullet, thanks to Nader.

I'll be damned if Shithead Ralph will harm my other nephew in Iraq!

I will NEVER forgive that worthless son of a bitch for lying about Al Gore, or the flunkies that went around in 2000 uttering the stupid line that there was no difference between Al Gore and Asshole Bush (Hightower, Moore, Glover, Sarandon and their ilk).

9. Very powerful words, Zanti Regent --
So very sorry about your nephew. My nephew served in Iraq also, having been sent there without protective gear, an issue addressed far too late in an article posted today in LBN.

10. By Nader's own admission,
He ran for Pres in 2000 so his party would qualify for matching funds. In other words, he did it for the money. In other other words, that makes Nader no different from the corporations against which he rails: they all did it for the money.

12. This is a topic that needs to be aired out
Just what is the money story on the so-called canidates that really have no chance of victory? How do their organizations pay them for their time and expenses? I'd like to see the financial records for some of these "no chance candidates"...... Could running for office be just another form of temporary income for a "wanta be" that likes to see their name in the news?... To put it another way: is Ralph just a modern day "flim flam man"?

13. Alan Keyes comes to mind
He actually paid himself a big salary out of his own campaign funds, I kid you not.

What also comes along with running for office like Nader is free hotels, travel, all paid with by contributors.

Nader should be frog marched to first Arlington, then Walter Reed, before he ever ever says "not a dime's worth of difference" again.
