TUNIS, March 27 (Xinhuanet) -- The Arab world has voiced rejection of the US-floated
Greater Middle East Initiative on reform in the region, Arab League chief Amr Moussa said here
on Saturday.
"An Arab summit (due on March 29-30) finds it not embarrassing to voice rejection of the
plan," Moussa told a joint press conference with Tunisian Foreign Minister Al-Habib bin Yahia.
"There is also a global rejection to the initiative, because it ignores the Israeli-Arab conflict and
the Iraqi issue," he said of the plan aimed at promoting democracy and prosperity in the Middle
East.
"Arab countries have been developing a homegrown plan for reform in the Arab world," he
said.
