Could a new trial make a difference for Koua Fong Lee? It depends on who you ask.
Lee's attorneys claimed in testimony on Wednesday that their client's original trial attorney didn't represent him fairly and accurately.
That attorney, Tracy Eichhorn-Hicks, told WCCO late Wednesday that he believes Lee should get a new trial. He now believes the sudden, unintended acceleration theory surrounding Lee's car is true.
"The sudden, unintended acceleration explains everything," he told Judge Joanne Smith late Wednesday afternoon during an evidentiary hearing on a defense motion for a new trial.
