Prosecutors said the decision was made in the interest of justice and the “disparity in roles’’ between the brothers in the sweeping corruption case, which largely targeted Rod Blagojevich. Prosecutors announced Thursday that charges against the former governor's brother have been dropped.
The news took Robert Blagojevich and his attorney by surprise, who weren’t told in advance of Thursday morning’s hearing.
“It’s stunning,’’ Robert Blagojevich said in a phone interview with the Sun-Times just minutes after receiving a text message and cell phone call from his attorney informing him he was “free.’’

Glad to see this. Fitz overreached and read too many of his own press clippings. I hope he does justice now with the governor.
