Some School Anti-Bullying Programs Push Gay Agenda, Christian Group Says
Source: ABC News

Gay-rights groups' push for anti-bullying legislation and school programs is an effort to "promote homosexuality to kids," according to a conservative Christian activist organization.

The accusation has underscored the conflicting attitudes among some politicians and parents who have lent their support to these policies after a string of deadly bullying episodes across the country.

Focus on the Family has accused gay-rights groups of using tolerance and anti-bullying programs to introduce curricula and books into schools that promote political aims such as same-sex marriage. The same groups, it says, lobby for gays and other minority groups to be specifically mentioned in anti-bullying legislation and try to depict Christians opposed to such treatment as bigots.

"What parents need to be aware of is there are activist groups who want to promote homosexuality to kids because they realize if they can capture hearts and minds of our children at the earliest ages they will have for all practical purposes won the clash of values that we are currently experiencing," Candi Cushman, education analyst for Focus on the Family, said on recently launched website TrueTolerance.org.

MORONS! Or in homage to our favorite MORANS! A lot of your friggin' kids are the bullies. And many of the kids they bully are gay or just different from you! Get over it! There are gay people - like Ken Mehlman. There are gay people in love. Gays should be allowed to marry.

1. That's why we never had gay kids at my school.
Teasing, bullying, "swirlys" and everything else taught them not to be gay. :sarcasm:

2. Yeah, a gay agenda of ending hateful hazing and vicious attacks in schools.
Ooh, how terrible: promoting an end to hate.

And that agenda surely does conflict with a rightwing religious ideology of hate.

3. The tolerance=promotion fallacy.
Why don't those bigoted parents just homeschool or send their kids to parochial schools instead of being annoying all the time? After all, parochial schools reserve the right to expel any suspected homosexual/sinner student.

Hell, back in the '50s I bet that these parents would've said that desegregation=promotion of blackness. And regarding these "parents" who are complaining, I bet that they're parents of those bullies who those schools are trying to confront. Those parents don't want their intolerant bully children to lose their spot in college just because it shows on their record that the student is an intolerant homophobe. The parents don't want to give colleges (oh yeah, I forgot, colleges are dirty, evil, liberal, Satanic, communist places too!) or employers the impression that their kid is an evil, deranged, wannabe Teabagger. In a soundbite, those parents say: "My good ol' boy would NEVER be a bully.*" *Bully meaning that the victim is only another one of those good ol' white Christian heterosexual boys.

5. Not Difficult
See here's the thing

Remember when all those school shootings were happening?
And when one happened for whatever reason more followed

When that happened these idiots, which were both school officials and politicians, said we need to look out for people who might just one day SNAP!

And I thought to myself what a bunch of idiots!!!
Look out for the symptoms but not the root cause?

The root cause are bullies.
ANYONE can snap if pushed to far

It amazes me how stupid some people are!!!

They don't realize on a conscious level that they *want* gays to be bullied and persecuted.

12. "promote homosexuality to kids,"
Edited on Wed Sep-01-10 01:24 PM by AlbertCat
Why is it these "adults" don't seem to remember what it was like to be a kid? Promoting homosexuality? It's been taboo for centuries, and yet it's still here. Hell, I was FORCED to play football for 4 years in prep school... talk about promoting heterosexuality! (or was it...all the showering together) I still turned out gay. (in fact I remember my 1st instance of "am I gay?" was in the shower lusting after a hairy, beefy senior all wet and soaped up!) Who was "promoting" it when they were kids? Or do they think homosexuality is something that arose in the 60's... like drug abuse? :eyes:

Do these people have a life? Do they want their kids to have a life?

15. Christians who oppose fair treatment of minorities and LGBT are
bigots. It would hold true for any other person acting the same from any religion.

Don't like being called a bigot? It's really easy to not be called one. Just don't be one.

24. Don't you get it? They're JEALOUS
They wish they had the balls to acknowledge their own queerness without the fear of brimstone and eternal flagellation and all their other secret obsessions. Just listen to a Catholic funeral some day. They must be getting their jollies from hearing about it all especially when it's repeated sooooo many times.

The ONLY logical conclusion is that they are saying it would have been so easy for me to be gay when I was a kid, that I'm afraid of my abilities as a parent to prevent my own kid from "succumbing". They can't even conceive of the kid actually being able to make a responsible decision for themselves. IMHO they are terrified the kid will meet someone as screwed up as they are and suffer for it. Rather than remove their own plank, they want to remove everyone else's speck. Well, guess what , KKKristians? God said not to do that!

I am becoming far less tolerant of bigoted KKKristian propaganda. Religion is the choice. Eternal subservience to a vicious, jealous, unpredictable, inconsistent, fantasy being, just because it might punish me, is not for me. And this country allows me that freedom.
