Harley-Davidson, Unions Agree On New Contract

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Harley-Davidson Motor Co., United Steelworkers Local 2-209 in Milwaukee, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge 78 in Milwaukee, and USW Local 460 in Tomahawk have concluded negotiations on new proposed collective bargaining agreements.

In a news release Friday, the company said the unions have agreed to unanimously recommend ratification of a company proposal in order to keep jobs in Wisconsin.

If ratified by the respective memberships, the new labor contracts would take effect in April 2012 when the current contracts expire.

Union members are scheduled to vote on the agreements Sept. 13.
