Mumford High School Shooting: 2 Students Shot In Detroit

At least two were shot just outside of Mumford High School in Detroit this afternoon, per Fox Detroit.

Police confirmed two Mumford students were shot, Local 4 News reported. The incident took place on the first day of school for Mumford High, located on Detroit's near-northwest side.

According to ABC-7 in Detroit, the shooting did not take place on school property, but instead just feet away and witnesses say the incident began with a fight at the school that spilled out into the streets.

Several local outlets are reporting that one boy and one girl were shot. Some 2,134 students attend the school, which offers grades 9-12.
