New York Post"Disgraced writer Gerald Posner was slapped with a copyright suit today for allegedly stealing "significant portions" of his latest book.
Author Frank Owen alleges that Posner -- who gained fame for his 1993 investigation of the assassination of President Kennedy -- engaged in "numerous examples of word-for-word copying" to produce last year's "Miami Babylon: Crime, Wealth, and Power -- A Dispatch from the Beach."
Owen's Manhattan federal court suit seeks unspecified damages from Posner, who Owen claims in one section is "Eligible For The Guinness Book of World Records for Copyright Infringement."
The suit also targets publisher Simon & Schuster, which allegedly "conducted an internal investigation of Posner's copyright infringement...but has not released the results."
