Ford Motor Co. will sell the Canadian-made Ford Edge in China and is considering exporting more vehicles from North America to feed the growing Chinese market.

"They are on their way to dealers now," said Ford Motor China Vice President Nigel Harris. The 2011 Edge midsize crossovers, built in Oakville, Ont., will be on sale in China by the end of the year.

The Edge is Ford's only export to China from North America: Key volume vehicles such as the Ford Fiesta, Focus Mondeo and S-Max are built in China for Chinese customers. But Harris said more imports to China are being considered.

Automakers only export luxury vehicles to China because of import duties as high as 25 percent, said Tim Dunne, director with J.D. Power & Associates in Westlake Village, Calif.

5. Even if they did, if I understand the article correctly
Ford is exporting cars for sale that are produced in Canada.

So, I don't think it would have been an outsourcing issue

3. Our DIL has an Ford Edge
It is by far the best automobile I've ever been in. bar none. at 80 mph the engine is turning at a leisurely 2000 rpm's. No wind noise, no road noise and it get close to 30 mpg. I hadn't even been paying any attention to them until she bought hers and at first I was turned off by the size and the look but now I simply love it. Great car.
Ford you're doing great
