China Hinders U.S. Recovery, Senators Tell Geithner.

As a part of a tough new posture on China, Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner laid out a list of complaints about China’s economic policies on Thursday and urged it to allow “significant, sustained appreciation” of its undervalued currency.

But senators from both parties expressed impatience with the Obama administration’s reliance on persuasion and negotiation, saying such tactics had yielded few gains so far.
