WASHINGTON, D.C. —>

Portman has jumped ahead by 20 percentage points over Fisher, 55 to 35, among likely voters, according to the poll, released Friday.

A single poll is just a snapshot in time, and people close to Fisher were dismissive of the 20-point lead. They noted it was nearly double the lead shown this week in a CNN/Time survey of likely Ohio voters.

The CNN/Time poll held Portman's lead at 11 percentage points. That's not where the Fisher campaign wants to be six weeks before the Nov. 2 election, but it is not as potentially fatal as the Quinnipiac numbers suggested.

Peter Brown, co-director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Center in Connecticut, said, "We obviously think our poll is accurate." >

1. You should identify who is the RepubliCON and who is the Democratic
candidate. Most people don't know the names of all the people in all the races across the country.

Anyhow, I found out that Ohio seems to love themselves a good long con, because most of them want to vote for more economic collapse brought to them by RepubliCONS.

They would rather vote for a millionaire than a proven public servant because we all know how much these millionaires care about us.

3. I have worked in and for democrats in Ohio for years but ...
Lee Fisher is going to inherit the bitter fruit for the nasty seeds he has sown. The crap that
man has pulled is well known among many of us .... Yes, i would love to pick up another senate
seat for the dems but Fisher is P.O.S. who thinks that he is owed that seat in the Senate.

I am no troll and I have given time, money, and hard work to help elect democrats along with
doing election protection work in Ohio for sometime now and I will vote Fisher this year but
I will not shed a tear when he gets his ass kicked this fall. The powers that be also helped
make this loss possible by all but cutting out the primary voters and anointing Lee as the democratic
pick to run for what could have been a pick up for the good guys in the U.S. senate.

Mods ..... I know that this post skates close to the line of breaking the rules on D.U. but I do it w/ a
clean heart.

6. Isn't that sad?
Like the Dem PTB that backed Fisher instead of Jennifer Brunner, we are told here that we must back shitty Dem candidates, no matter how far their behavior strays from true Dem behavior.

"Smiles, everyone. Smiles. I said SMILE, dammit!"

Dissent has now become unpatriotic.

11. here in Arkansas we have Blanche
who will probably lose by 15 or so points. She's a nose holder, but I'm a democrat. It sounds like we got her the same way you got Fisher .

(Cincinnatti area i think) a couple years ago in a House race...He was an Iraq veteran i think, I apologize but his name escapes me...Why didn't he run for senate, had to be better than that guy Fischer...Portman is a Bush guy to, but from this poll, that sure isn't hurting him...

I do think Democrats should have the DNC in Cleveland in 2012, Obama doesn't need the state for re-election, but if he wins it, he's 2 terms for sure..

5. The dems in Ohio are fools for running this slug again, it is a Rethug state
that did not elect a statewide dem for years prior to Strictland (who is going to lose) and Brown (who can thank GwB). Fisher already lost statewide once for Govenor.

8. Brunner would have been far better. Thanks Lee Fisher for gumming it up again.
You were no good 20 years ago and you haven't gotten any more electable since.
