State Attorney General Ken Salazar has raised at least $425,000 in the past three weeks, setting a quick fundraising pace in one of the most anticipated Senate races in the country.

About 65 percent of contributions stemmed from in-state donors giving $100 or less, and roughly 90 percent of the money came from individuals, the Democrat's campaign chairman, Mike Stratton, told The Denver Post.

"We've done it on the fly and by the seat of our pants," said Stratton, noting that the campaign raised the money without having a headquarters and full staff.

The campaign has set a $1million-a-month goal beginning April 1.

1. Sounds like Salazar could win this
To the Republicans have a candidate yet?

That's really great.

2. This is a key race.
I hope that he can decisively win! Perhaps there's hope for Kerry in Colorado? At a minimum, Salazar should win the seat back from Switch-horse.

3. I guess us Coloradans
are happy to finally have someone to support. The Strickland thing was kinda sketchy. He wasn't expected to win, and then when he got close I think people were still in the negative mindset. It's all totally different this time.

I'll see about working with him this summer.
