Iran crosses into Iraq to hit bombing suspects
Source: AP

TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian forces crossed into neighboring Iraq and killed 30 fighters from a group it says was involved in last week's bombing of a military parade, state TV reported Sunday.

Gen. Abdolrasoul Mahmoudabadi of the elite Revolutionary Guards said the "terrorists" were killed on Saturday in a clash "beyond the border" and that his forces were still in pursuit of two men who escaped the ambush.

While Iran has said in the past it would target armed groups on Iraqi soil this is a rare case of it actually admitting to an attack.

Iraqi officials have complained in the past about Iranian artillery shelling its northern mountainous region where armed Kurdish opposition groups have taken refuge.

4. Ha ha- the U.S. designated the entire Revolutionary Guard as terrorists so this is a TERROR attack!
Edited on Sun Sep-26-10 10:17 PM by Poll_Blind
The entire Revolutionary Guard were designated as an FTO (Foreign Terrorist Organization) in 2007, mostly so we'd have any excuse we wanted to launch a first strike on Iran (and claim it was in retaliation against terror) but the funny thing is I think our broke, no-goal-havin' asses are going to not make a peep about that or other inconvenient facts which reflect on the matter.

Unless, of course, it's convenient in any way for us to do so. That was the whole purpose of defining a government's armed service as a terrorist organization in the first place.

Hell, we might have even slipped a few bucks to the folks who did the attack on Iran. After all...wait for it...they wuz just fightin' terra, riiiiiight?
