CIA Adviser Says Iraq Weapons Search Is Making Progress
http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGA8C7AETID.html

WASHINGTON (AP) - A CIA adviser told lawmakers Thursday that progress was being made in the hunt for Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, but Democrats decried the so-far fruitless searches and questioned the Bush administration's rationale for war.

David Kay, who is serving as a special adviser for the weapons search, said inspectors have found physical evidence of Iraqi activity on weapons of mass destruction, but he declined to discuss details. He said investigators had made a "tactical and strategic decision" to focus on biological rather than on chemical or nuclear programs, saying, "Those are the areas that we're principally talking about progress."

The Senate Intelligence Committee's top Democrat, Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, expressed concern that the searches are being diverted away from finding actual weapons.

"Signs of a weapons program are very different than the stockpiles of biological and chemical weapons that were a certainty before the war," Rockefeller said. "We did not go to war to disrupt Saddam's weapons program, we went to disarm him."

"It's looking more and more like a case of mass deception," Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., said after Kay briefed the Senate Armed Services Committee. "There was no imminent danger, and we should never have gone to war."

1. words...words...words ..... Can they share if anything will happen IF
they don't find anything? Now that would be news. Tell us that bush should be impeached for an illegal war or falsifying Iraq claims.

they had better find a freaking H-bomb. As I recall, this whole fiasco was about Iraq being an "imminent threat" (that's the whole shitty premise of preemptive strike, isn't it?). Uh, so a "program" doesn't exactly make me shake in my shoes.

5. no worries...
they just have to plant one... I'm sure we can scrounge together something a few decades old and paint some Arabic on it... Okay so that would be foolish; but it would be easy enough to plant something a little less complex, say mustard gas. Expect it. The whack jobs in power can't afford to come up empty handed. So they won't.

The threat was so imminent we couldn't risk allowing the UN inspectors to continue their search for just a few more months. Then they wouldn't allow the UN inspectors to continue the search, but threw together their own hand-picked team (like the handpicked Iraqi ruling council)which needs more and more time. Yeah, that has international credibility, just like the bogus evidence for the war, there will be a veil of suspicion around all their claims of discovery.

It is all such a monumental shame to this country that it will probably be decades until, with the buffer of time gone by, that this country will be capable of fully facing this terrible time.

that Saddam's WMD program was to eat a lot of beans and launch a gas attack within hours afterwards. This was not just a mere program, but a smorgasbord of mass destruction. With his elite Republican guard quaffing down beans by the boatload, they would only have to aim and "fire", that is, to light a match. Never has Western Civilization been in such danger of mass stinktion on the knife edge of being full of shit since at least the January State of the Union Speech. Bush was so certain of the WMD program because he had tried it himself, and in fact was prepared to gas the entire Congress in joint session before he learned that they too were full of shit. Bush, liking the smell of other people's farts screamed: "Bring it on!"

9. Of course
Comic book guy voice: "must hog attention." I just noticed that I'm doing a lot more satire lately, and I just remembered I've forgot my medication lately. I wonder if there is a connection!

to find them. Aw they will end up in Iran or Syria wherein will be justified another preemptive war staging which will be followed by the discovery of SADDAM having been blown into bits of pieces mere mush and tissue, which DOD forensic will scoop to JPOST, and the American press venues he has in his back pocket, complete with a front page photo of the PCR DNA bands next to a petrie dish just swarming with what's left of Saddam...

Murdock's FoxNews will follow with InDepth Coverage and Commentary satellited out to the Iraqi people who won't buy it for a moment. Bush&Co will all have a shadow celebration in one of the bunkers.
