Peraica accused of damaging rival's signs

Just three days before the Nov. 2 election, Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica was arrested Saturday on misdemeanor vandalism charges in west suburban McCook, where his re-election opponent is the mayor.

The two-term Republican was arrested Saturday night in the village of about 250 people and charged with criminal damage to property for allegedly destroying a campaign sign of his Democratic challenger, Mayor Jeff Tobolski, according to McCook police Chief Frank Wolfe.

Peraica said Sunday that he had been out investigating the destruction of his own signs when he was followed and harassed. He denied the charges, which he said were trumped up.

"The facts are the facts," Wolfe said. "When you break the law, you break the law."

Yeah its a small time race, though Cook County is huge and powerful. Still, it brought a chuckle out of me while having my waffles this morning.

3. Just a short while back they told us to watch WV Washington State

and Conneticut. The Republicans had to win all 3. If early
in the evening these go Republican --it would be a Rout.

Most pollsters say Manchin and Murray will win and it has
been looking Coombs for weeks. We have to deduct no rout.

Cornyn and Steele have been lowering expectations.

If there had been no Tea Party, we would lose 25 seats in House
based on historical losses for incumbent party. Start counting
Republican Wins after the first 25 seats. No rout.

last time he ran he tried to pull a brooks brothers riot. mean and small.

eta- this is why i never, ever take other candidate's yard signs. i love the sign wars. but i just flank their signs with ours. either i drown them out or they all get pulled. i can tell you that the rethug ticket in cook county has the unequivocal support of the vacant lots and the public way.
