Blumenthal bests McMahon for Conn. Senate seat

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) -- Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut's longtime attorney general, won the state's hotly contested U.S. Senate race on Tuesday, defeating a multimillionaire former wrestling executive and keeping the seat in Democratic control.

With 3 percent of precincts reporting, Blumenthal had 51 percent of the vote to Linda McMahon's 46 percent.

Blumenthal, 64, will fill the seat that's been held by Sen. Chris Dodd since 1981. Dodd did not seek re-election.

Blumenthal, the state's attorney general for two decades, sold himself to voters as someone who has fought special interests on their behalf and will do so again if elected to the U.S. Senate.

2. The working mom lost?
Thank god I do not have to watch one more ad with that sleazy woman in it. It was really unfair that NJ was subjected to Linda McMahon for these past months when we couldn't even vote against her.

This one made me a bit nervous. Now they just have to get rid of that POS Joe Lieberman.

4. I like the idea that both McMahon and Whitman wasted so many millions
of their own money.
