President Barack Obama is open to the idea of discussing an extension of Bush-era tax cuts for all income levels, the White House said on Thursday.

Two days after congressional elections, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs signalled that Obama might consider a compromise with Republicans that would keep tax breaks not only for the middle-class but for wealthier Americans as well.

Maybe he's not totally to blame, the rest of the congressional democrats helped him along. Healthcare reform was modeled to provide additional money to insurance companies. Democratic politicians probably thought they'd help them get re-elected. They didn't and they won't. Over and over on issue after issue, Democrats opened by giving the Republicans what they thought they'd want, and thereby surrendered the position that was best for the 95% or 98% of people that don't own half this country. That was stupid. Then because the Democratic politicians wanted so damn bad to get SOME kind of healthcare reform (or other pet issue) through congress, they spent months giving in to demand after demand from two or three Republicans who just might get on board the bus if they could just lower that step down close enough to the ground. In light of everything, I think it absolutely fair to say that Democratic politicians are generally a bunch of absolute morons.
