An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale shook Yogyakarta for three to five seconds on Tuesday at 2.03 p.m.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that epicenter of the quake was situated 125 kilometers southwest of Bantul regency, at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level.
The earthquake caused residents to flee from buildings, however no injuries or deaths have been reported so far.
