Bush Still Blames Saddam for WMDs
Source: nbc chicago

Former President George Bush told Oprah Winfrey that his former Middle Eastern nemesis, Saddam Hussein, is the one that bears responsibility for the weapons of mass destruction deception that lead to the War in Iraq.

During a wide ranging interview pinned to the release of the President's memoirs, Oprah asked Bush if he felt that intelligence had mislead him during his search for weapons of mass destruction. It was a question prompted by a chapter in his book, Decision Points, where Bush discusses his process of dealing with the reality that Saddaam never possessed the artillery to pose a threat, but he does not concede that the actions were a mistake.

"Listen, it was Saddam Hussein who deceived the people," Bush told Oprah after defending his intelligence team's information . He went on to explain that Saddam had misled his own Iraqi administration to the point that even they were in the dark about the country's weapons program. Oprah then asked him if that intelligence was worth the lives of 4,000 soldiers.

"It weighs heavily on me at night," Bush said. "It gave me a sickening feeling."

18. Back up your claim. Pelosi is a crook. Prove it.
We knew Iraq had chmical and biological weapons, because we saw that they were used in both the Iran/Iraq war, and against the Kurds.

What your buddy Bush claimed is they had nuclear weapons, which was an outright LIE.

30. I don't believe you'll find him ever saying he had nuclear weapons.
I recall the debate included Saddam having a nuclear weapons program, the inference being that left unchecked, he would acquire nuclear weapons in the future.

Saddam, kudos on a well-executed deception. Of course there were some unattended consequences, weren't there? Never assume that ANY US Prescient is bluffing. I don't care if it's Bush or Obama, we rattle sabers, but usually don't bluff.

14. Bush is STILL a jerk!
I don't believe that anyone could be that stupid.
When will he understand that we KNOW that he wanted to go after Saddam Hussein from before his first day in office? How long does he expect people to believe that he believed that there were WMDs?

He will go down in history as the WORST PRESIDENT EVER!

And then said you have to trust what people say around you.

I disagree you have to listen, then think and feel, so you are not led by thieves and liars.

His comment is like those that believe everything that they read, why would a person have a heart and mind if they are not suppose to use it?

17. Seems like total denial
He can't believe he was so wrong and caused so much harm by it. He is not man enough. So he pretends that Saddam was enough of a threat to warrant what followed (and is still following). His fragile, infantile ego can't handle the truth.

28. There is an exception to denial.
If everyone tries to tell you that you are wrong. And you can spend the time to think and feel on it, and really feel if it is right or wrong, then sometimes you can be correct even with an idea that many don't think on.

But to be afraid to learn what you think and feel or why, by guilt or ego, I think is wrong.

I think the greatest people are those that when surrounded by much wrong, still found a way to stick to correctness. It is easy if everyone is doing it. But what if everyone is following and not thinking and feeling what is correct, then really thinking and feeling and taking that road less traveled is really hard, but those are usually people that make a difference.

I can't find an argument with feeling or thinking for his mind set. Maybe there is one, but I have not heard it.

21. More BS. You can bet he sleeps just fine at night in his mansion
As a man, I realize I'm genetically predetermined to hate Oprah, but her giving him another platform to spew his lies is disgusting. Then again, she had Palin on last year when she was pimping out her bogus memoirs, so I guess my expectations should be low to begin with.

of course those don't count.
Disheartening to realize you can kill hundreds of thousands of people,
then go on TV and spew BS and get away with it, cuz we're the good guys.
