McChrystal Named to JetBlue Board

Retired Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who was fired by President Barack Obama after making insulting comments about top administration officials, was named Tuesday to the JetBlue Airways Corp. board of directors.

JetBlue Chairman Joel Peterson said McChrystal added “a new dimension to an already strong corps of advisors” at the New York-based airline.

“His reputation for critical thinking and strength in strategy will bring true value to JetBlue,” Peterson added.

CEO Dave Barger said McChrystal, 56, would offer “fresh perspectives.”

3. Aw crap. We are a frequent Jetblue fliers.

We will have to write a letter opposing the McCrystal being on the board, and we will be boycotting Jetblue as of now, and that's unfortunate since we're planning a trip to New York in January and that airline is one of three direct flights to JFK from Denver. United and Delta is the other - LGA is still an option (Frontier has a direct flight there as well) - we have not yet booked our seats.

6. Jet Blue founder close buddies with Glenn Beck..

Just a little factoid.

Glenn Beck is pals with Jet Blue founder David Neeleman. He's had him
on his radio program a few times, and they've talked about
their close friendship.

Both are fellow Mormons.

Although the current CEO is David Barger, it appears that this company
has an affinity for the right wing.

8. JetBlue is a Mormon-owned company. We began boycotting them...

...back in 2008, after the Prop 8 travesty. No surprise they would hire a a chicken hawk to their board. Wouldn't be surprised if McChrystal is a "true blue" LDS. The are thick as thieves...
