PHOENIX — Arizona voters have approved a measure that will legalize medical marijuana in the state.

Proposition 203 won by a tiny margin of just 4,341 votes out of more than 1.67 million votes counted. The measure started out losing by about 7,200 votes on Nov. 2 and the gap gradually narrowed in the following 10 days.

The measure began Friday losing by about 1,500 votes, then surged ahead by 4,421 votes.

Maricopa was the only Arizona county with ballots still outstanding on Saturday. The county finished counting all the remaining provisional and early ballots by late in the afternoon.

11. Actually I believe it's the 3rd time but the rules have been
changed so that the legislature cannot overturn it this time.

Some of the local wags are saying that the reason it took so long to declare the outcome is because of so many provisional ballots cast by the stoners who were confused as to where and when to vote.

That's the type of idiotic stereotyping that has kept the herb taboo for so long.

Voters approve Arizona medical marijuana measure
By BOB CHRISTIE, Associated Press

Arizona voters have approved a measure that will legalize medical marijuana use in the state for people with chronic or debilitating diseases.

Final vote tallies showed Saturday that Proposition 203 won by a tiny margin of just 4,341 votes out of more than 1.67 million votes counted. The measure had started out losing on Election Day by about 7,200 votes, but the gap gradually narrowed in the following 10 days.

"Now begins the very hard work of implementing this program in the way it was envisioned, with very high standards," said Andrew Myers, campaign manager for the Arizona Medical Marijuana Policy Project. "We really believe that we have an opportunity to set an example to the rest of the country on what a good medical marijuana program looks like."

12. Congrats to the people of Arizona
for fighting the good fight for more than a decade - the truth of the matter is that medical marijuana laws demonstrate that the long-standing lies and bad laws from our govt about marijuana are the problem, not the substance itself.

this is the first step toward decriminalization and then legalization for everyone.

Did Pa pass theirs too? My internetS were down on election night. Anyway Arizonians can look forward to episodes like the one I encountered Thursday night here in Ca. Just remember, Don't Lie

A trip to In-N-Out I won't forget

So it was about 10:30 pm and I was hungry, and thought In-N-Out sounds good. I remember seeing one in my travels through Clovis/Fresno. I remember it was on Clovis street and Shaw I thought. Nope Must be Herndon and Clovis. Next thing I know I am in old Clovis not knowing Herndon was just up the road.

So I made a left turn and turned back to Shaw. The car that was behind me made me think it was a cop. I wasn't speeding, and I just so happened to put my pipe in my middle compartment just in case. I wasn't smoking while driving. So the car behind me gets closer, I see it is a cop.
A California Highway Patrol. He stay's behind me on a 3 lane street. We are at the light, and the light turns green, and he pulls me over.

He tells me my third brake light is out in the back. You know the one that is above my rear window. The one that doesn't really need to be there anyway. He then asks me if I have Marijuana in the car. YIKES! So I tell him yes. He then tells me he can smell it in the car.

He asks me when was the last time I smoked, and I said in the afternoon sometime. I said I smoked it in my car, because I can't smoke it in the house where I am at. He asks me where I am coming from, I tell him somewhere outside of Clovis. And I have a problem rememering my street name which is Bullard, because I just moved here. He asked me what ailment I have to use it, and I tell him my knee surgery I had years back.

He then asks me to follow the tip of his pen with my eyes only. I did that, and he let me go.

I finally found the In-N-Out burger after I asked some woman at a gas station.

... things like the consent of the governed.

Congratulations, Arizona voters. Now go forth and develop the best program imaginable. Heaven knows, your climate (and New Mexico's and Colorado's) are among the best for growing the Goddess that we have in this country.

Yes we can(nabis). Onward from one victory to another (despite last week's landslide/backslide).

Good to greet this Sunday morning with a sigh of relief.
