Obama wants Congress to have a busy December
Source: USA Today

The lame duck Congress that returns to Washington next week will have a busy December, if the Obama White House has anything to say about it.

Extending the George W. Bush tax cuts for the middle class ... Unemployment insurance ... An arms reduction treaty with Russia ... The Pentagon's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy toward gays ... Immigration issues, including the "Dream Act" that would create a path to citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants.

And don't forget that on Dec. 1 the special deficit commission delivers its report on how to reduce the massive federal debt.

"There's no doubt we have plenty of work to do," said White House press secretary Robert Gibbs.

1. My gut says the next two years are going to be a whole lotta nothing.....
but hot air.

Congress by itself will contribute to global warming.

11. Yep. If we're going to get anything else done it's gotta be now -
because the next couple years are going to be total gridlock.

5. That would require Congress to actually work
And we all know that isn't happening anytime soon.

9. "George W. Bush tax cuts for the middle class "?
That's cute. W cut taxes on the rich. Not me. Obama is the one who cut my taxes.

Another case of rebranding by the RW.

10. Forgive me if I don't have high expectations for ....
a congress (Senate) controlled by Democrats that didn't pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.

I'll believe any progress when I see it.
