Texas jurors deliberating fate of Tom DeLay

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas jurors in the money laundering trial of former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay are to return for their first full day of deliberations, one day after sending the judge questions seeking clarification about the criminal charge.

Senior Judge Pat Priest said he would address their concerns about the money laundering charge before they resumed their work Tuesday.

Prosecutors allege that DeLay helped illegally funnel $190,000 in corporate campaign donations to Texas legislative races in 2002 in a move that ultimately helped send more Republicans to Congress. DeLay has long denied any wrongdoing.

even if he's convicted. The verdict will be overturned by the GOP appellate judges, or he'll get a pardon.
