Alaska official: Miller election claims baseless
Source: Associated Press

Alaska's lieutenant governor on Tuesday discounted allegations by Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller that elections officials unlawfully interpreted voter intent on write-in ballots.

Lt. Gov. Craig Campbell, who oversees the state Division of Elections, issued a statement in defense of elections officials, claiming Miller's lawsuit threatens to cloud the vote.

"Mr. Miller continues to level allegations against the state of Alaska which are baseless, but if left unanswered, I believe could make members of the public lose trust in a lawful, reliable and consistent process," Campbell said.

(snip)
Campbell said it's disappointing that Miller continues to try to disenfranchise voters, especially considering that his campaign observers were present and they actively participated throughout the write-in counting process.

1. Let the state court decide.
Campbell is the "Alaska official" whose interpretations of election law are at the heart of the Miller challenge.

Weird headline.

2. This should NOT be going to court
Murkowski had more votes than Miller - with only her 'perfect' ballots counted.
With only 'perfect' ballots counted Lisa has a 2,169 lead,
that number above doesn't include the additional 8,159 challenged 'imperfect' ballots or the 2,016 challenged and tossed out ballots.
Murkowski is the clear winner and Miller is being an ass.

5. I agree that Miller has almost no case, but that's what courts are for.
State court vs. the court of public opinion.

If it were me, I'd want the former.

Regardless, this is pug vs. pug, and the only thing in it for us is political entertainment. Murkowski is a bought-and-paid-for old-school pug; Miller is a psycho.

3. Boo hoo hoo, another whining fascist bites the dust.
Time was, when a defeated candidate would have made a gracious concession speech by now.

4. Is Miller writing the checks for this?
Or is he being a drain on the states budget with his crap?

GO AWAY MORAN!
