Consumer confidence climbs to highest since June
Source: Reuters

(Reuters) - Consumer confidence rose in November to its highest level in five months, helped by improving labor market conditions and a jump in the expectations index, according to a private-sector report released on Tuesday.

The Conference Board, an industry group, said its index of consumer attitudes increased to 54.1 in November, the strongest since June, from a revised 49.9 in October.

The median of forecasts from analysts polled by Reuters was for a reading of 52.6.

Americans are more upbeat about future jobs prospects. Those expecting fewer jobs in the months ahead fell to 18.8 percent from 22.3 percent, while those expecting more jobs rose to 15.5 percent from 14.5 percent.

17. Let's follow the White House strategy
I remember last June like it was, ah, just a few months ago.

I remember that unemployment went down that month by .2 per cent, the first decline in a year.

I remember the President saying clearly around that time: “Make no mistake, we are headed in the right direction.”

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-07-02/obama-says-jobs-report-shows-u-s-economy-improving-stark-turnaround-.html

And I remember thinking, yikes, saying that is a risky short-term strategy going into the campaign season, claiming for all to hear, based on one small change in one indicator, that things are now getting better.

However, history proved me wrong, and things kept getting better and better, which is why our side triumphed in the mid-terms.

Unless I missed something.

8. Did you think
the Conference Board was going to suspend its activities because there is a crisis?

Now is the time to double down on the breathtaking lies and manipulation.

Pay no attention to the major world economies crumbling to pieces around you...

Here's what you're cheering, btw:

12. Excellent news going into the holiday season...
Lets hope consumers are getting back on their feet and bring lots of business to our retailers. A good holiday sales season could be a real shot in the arm to the economy and get us starting the year on the right foot.

15. Am looking forward to the time when it trickles over here to Michigan.
We Michiganders were among the first to go under, and I suppose we'll be among the last to come back. But I have to tell you, it's been so bad here since at least 2005, that trying to imagine what other states say they are experiencing with their rebounding economies feels like believing in leprechauns. I'm trying to keep my chin up and "believe," but it's damned difficult. I'm a transplant from Texas (1995) and I have come to adore this state with all of my heart, it's so sad to see all of the suffering here. I really want to believe a recovery can happen here, too. Maybe someday.
