Blair to face inquiry into Kelly's death
Let's just hope it isn't a whitewash.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3115243.stm

The judge investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the UK Government weapons expert Dr David Kelly has opened his inquiry.

The top judge has spent the first session explaining how he will conduct the inquiry and who he would call to give evidence, including the prime minister and journalist Andrew Gilligan.

Lord Hutton said his task was to investigate the circumstances surrounding Dr Kelly's death, quickly and fairly.

Lord Hutton said it was his intention to find how a number of journalists outside the BBC had found out Dr Kelly's name.

1. I fear
That Blair is too good for these guys. Unfortunately, Gilligan seems to have messed up and Blair will have him hung out to dry.

This is yet another distraction.

2. Blair can, and does abuse his power
And when you consider that Hutton was appointed solely by Lord Falconer, Blair's old flatmate & the biggest crony going then it does not bode well. Mind you this enqiry is as much as we have. It would take a heck of a lot for this enqiry to screw up quite like the lackeys & lickspittles of the commons enquiry have.

On a related note I would also note that it does look like the Labour party conference is going to be a bit of a stich-up, with Blair able to ignore the legitmate fears of the grassroots party thanks to his party reforms that have turned the party into little more than a Tony Blair fan club.

3. Agreed
This is why the Dems need to take account of what happens when you win at any cost.

Tony Blair is not left wing. The left of Labour have been marginalised. If Tony goes, there is a real possibility of the Tories being handed election victory on a plate. However, whats the point in voting for Tony Blair?

Abandoning your values to win elections represents total capitulation.

4. cardiogram pads
i have just seen a reference to 'cardiogram pads' being found on the body of Kelly on BBC news 24
can anone verify this...
i have searched many sites and found nothing ...

also Lord Hutton was in charge of the David Shayler case, one which
the jury were not allowed to know the details of the allegations
Shayler had made about the Gaddaffi murder plot by MI6...
fair trail then? Fair inquiry now?

5. "Cardiogram pads"?
Do you mean those little sticky circular things that are placed on a person and connected with wires and such? Why would he be wearing those?

6. Who was monitoring his heart? And Why?
How many were found on his body?

This boggle the mind. Who believes that Kelly took his life to save embarrassment, I certainly do not.

8. Coronary artery disease
The Guardian just reported the pads as well and stated that Kelly had coronary artery disease http://media.guardian.co.uk/iraqdossieraffair/story/0,13754,1010691,00.html

Dr Hunt also described how four electro-cardiogram pads were found on Dr Kelly's chest, two on the upper torso and two in the lower chest area.

Dr Kelly had also taken off his watch and glasses before his death in an Oxfordshire wood two weeks ago, it was revealed.

"The removal of the watch in this way and the removal of spectacles are features pointing to this being an act of self-harm," the pathologist wrote.

Another source reporting this: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2003/8/1/latest/13297Judgehead&sec=latest

The judge said he would ask doctors if they could explain why four electrocardiogram electrode pads were found on Kelly's chest after his death.

He said the Home Office pathologist who conducted the autopsy, Dr. Nicholas Hunt, noted that Kelly had a "significant degree of coronary heart disease,'' but concluded that it was "not major part in the cause of death.''

But why would Kelly wear those pads when he was going for a walk? Sounds very strange to me. Now, if I'd put on my tinfoil hat, I would be puzzled still. If Kelly was "suicided" and someone monitored his heartbeat, why should this someone leave the pads on the body? To warn others not to talk like Kelly did?

9. how about this? tin foil hat on NOW, please...
what if Kelly had the rub on the government...he knew the real reasons for the wests expansion into perpetual war...

the gauding (ie bombing and occupation) of the middle east and east asia and the continiuing plans for Africa...
Does anyone remember all the fuss about 'the new Asian miracle'
that was being bandied about in the late 90's...economic plans for exploding capital and labour markets
was the whole foot and mouth episode ...a dry-run for something?
to see how far they could go...
was it really foot and mouth disease????
they did seem adamant on destroying thousands upon thousands of animals....

Maybe Dr Kelly set his own suicide up to look like a inside job to bring down the house of cards and save millions of lives...
what kind of info do you think an ex porton down scientist;
(Head of microbiology no less in 92) would have?...one that also worked investigating the former soviet blocks...
chemical and biological capabilities...was this the beginning of a the hidden cold war...between the G8 powers...for economic dominance...maybe, Dr strangelove style...they meet up and bitch and work out little plans for annihilating one anothers economic power base...hmmm SARS?

perhaps socio economic bio-warfare is happening right now...

woooooo hoooo!!!!

then again Dr Kelly just might have done himself in because he knew a super man-made virus was on the loose and we're all for it!!!!

naaah!!! that's going too far

?
i mean if the secret services or whoever these f**kos are can't be bothered to do a tidy job...how arrogant is that...
that is power ...scary.

13. ANSWER:
The killer didn't know about the pads.

If Kelley had the pads on he was monitoring his heart, recently.

Why would a guy care about his health if he's going to kill himself anyway?

The pads ruin the suicide theory. And where's the note?

10. Perhaps We Can Get This Inquiry Televised Internationally
as obfiscation for the Kobe Trial and bump the soaps and court tv completely?

I'd much rather tune into the BLAIR INQUIRY daily. Put his royal arse in view of international public scrutiny. That's what I say!

12. On Lord Hutton
years ago there was that famous case where a deputy chief constable of Manchester (I think) did an inquiry into wether there was a 'shoot to kill' policy being operated by the RUC in Northern Ireland. When it came to the attention of the authorities that he was doing too concietious and honest a job of the inquiry he was 'fitted up' on corruption charges.

Lord Hutton has done inquiries -plural- in Northern Ireland if I heard right on the BBC, so I would assume he is regarded as a safe pair of hands as far as blair is concerned.
