Swiss find signs of illegal US surveillance

Bern has found signs that the US embassy in Geneva has been conducting illegal surveillance on Swiss territory, the justice ministry told AFP Sunday, confirming local press reports.

The Swiss government had in 2007 rejected requests made by the US missions in Bern and Geneva to protect their buildings through a surveillance programme "due to a lack of legal basis and bilateral accords on this domain," the ministry said in a statement.

However, it emerged late last year that US embassies in Norway and Denmark had been conducting similar programmes

6. A young idealistic kid named Chris Boyce

started selling classified info to the Russians back in the 1970s because of what he learned about the US screwing over its allies while he was working as a clerk in a "top secret" vault for a government contractor. This isn't anything new.

13. Yep. I went to high school with both of them. Chris Boyce was smart,

friendly, and well-liked. Daulton Lee was unattractive and a druggie.

Daulton got into the spy business for the money. Chris got into it after discovering how corrupt the US government is. He had intercepted messages that indicated the CIA was interfering with elections in Australia and that the US was in violation of treaties with that nation.

By the way despite lengthy sentences, both are now free men and have been for years.
