Feingold signs book deal

Former Democratic Senator Russ Feingold has signed a book deal with Crown Publishers to write, "While America Sleeps," his take on America's missteps since the Sept. 11 attacks.

According to the press release from Crown:

"As the tenth anniversary of 9/11 approaches, Senator Feingold will write about the past decade, what America has done wrong domestically and abroad since the terrorist attacks, and what steps must be taken to ensure that the next ten years are focused on the international problems that threaten America and its citizens. Publication is scheduled for early 2012."

Feingold announced recently that he will teach a course in the coming semester at Marquette Law School and that he planned to write a book about the past decade with a heavy foreign policy theme.

According to Crown, D.C. lawyer Robert Barnett handled the contract for Feingold. Barnett, a University of Wisconsin graduate, has handled book deals for a who's who of American political figures, including Barack Obama,Sarah Palin and Bill and Hillary Clinton.
