Jimmy John's founder contemplates moving headquarters out of Illinois
Source: News-Gazette

CHAMPAIGN – The founder of Jimmy John's said he has applied for Florida residency and may recommend that his corporate headquarters move out-of-state as a result of the Illinois tax increases enacted last week.

Jimmy John Liautaud told The News-Gazette on Tuesday that he is angry about the moves, which boosted the individual income tax from 3 percent to 5 percent and the corporate income tax from 7.3 percent to 9.5 percent.

"All they do is stick it to us," he said, adding that the Legislature and governor showed "a clear lack of understanding."

"I could absorb this and adapt, but it doesn't feel good in my soul to make it happen," Liautaud said.

27. It does in Illinois. And it does in many other places he has stores.
In Florida they have to worry about drainage. He's a typical entitlement case. People owe him everything, he owes nothing back. Libertarian, Republican, or just uninformed... but I repeat myself.

28. Oh please.
Subway is disgusting, Georgio's is marginally better than Subway, Blimpie is good quality, but completely broken assembly of components, and Quiznos only excels in toasted sandwiches.

Jimmy John's sandwiches are friggin glorious.

(Maybe if we had some more options around here. Sub Shop #9 is like an hour drive.)

31. Where do you get that idea.
Only three states have higher corporate income tax rate.

IA - 12%
PA - 9.99% (got to love they didn't go to 10%)
MN - 9.75%

24. JJ's
I was a delivery driver for Jimmy Johns and I can tell you straight up that this guy is a fascist pig. He's the type of guy who pays peanuts to his workers because the drivers are supposed to make tips, but when he is out on the town he is known as a non-tipper himself. His attitude is typical of the American wealthy. He makes it out like he worked for every penny to make his business when his father gave him a load of cash to start it in the first place. Give me 25k for a startup and I'll be a millionaire in a decade or so too. I get sick of that whole "I started with nothing, I'm a regular blue collar guy" garbage.
