Chinese Pres. Hu Jintao: China not a military threat to any nation

WASHINGTON – Chinese President Hu Jintao sought to assure U.S. business leaders on Thursday that his country is an economic partner and not a military threat to America or anyone else. But he rejected foreign interference on issues such as Tibet and Taiwan.

"We will remain committed to the path of peaceful development," Hu told a U.S.-China Business Council luncheon. "We do not engage in an arms race, we are not a military threat to any country. China will never seek to dominate or pursue an expansionist policy."

Hu said China intended to "develop a socialist democracy and build a socialist country under the rule of law."

6. China is not a threat to N. Korea, and it isn't China's job to "control" it.

China does not view foreign policy through the lens of "controlling" others; rather, it is a question of mutual benefit and respect for sovereignty. China only wishes to influence others to have the same respect.

North Korea are Allies, and North Korea listens to China, this is why the United States went to China to with help to cool down the situation with North and South Korea. No of course they don't control North Korea, but they generally trust each other, which is what I was referring to.

China and India have better relations than ever before. Those clashes decades ago were unfortunate, because China and India have to develop strong ties to help world peace. Tibet is recognized by the United Nations, the United States, and every other country, as a part of China. I suppose it's akin to the US "internal colony" of Aztlan.

or some of the other countries in the region. Scrape away the pretty diplomatic talk and I'm pretty sure you'll get a definitive yes
