CHP investigating death threats to Jerry Brown

The California Highway Patrol said Friday it is investigating death threats made against Gov. Jerry Brown in two Southern California graffiti messages.

The messages were spray-painted on the street side of residential cinderblock walls in Santa Ana. The CHP, which is responsible for the governor's safety, is taking the threats seriously, spokeswoman Fran Clader said.

... Cpl. Anthony Bertagna, spokesman for the Santa Ana Police Department, said one of the messages read, "we gonna kill Gov. Brown 2/14/11."

The other said "27 more days 4 Brown" and included a swastika.
