McConnell expects Senate health repeal vote
Source: AP

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell says he has no doubt that the Senate will vote on whether to go along with the House's decision to repeal the new health care law.

Democrats control the Senate and Majority Leader Harry Reid has pledged to block efforts to repeal the overhaul.

But McConnell tells "Fox News Sunday" that "I assure you we will have a vote on repeal." The Kentucky senator says that if the Senate doesn't pass a repeal, then opponents will try to dismantle it piece by piece.

He calls the health care law "the single worst piece of legislation" passed during his time in the Senate.

Expect the Dems to cave cause that's the only thing they're good at!

Besides if we don't cave it might hurt our weakling image.

1. The last part is most of it.
They want to paint some groups as weak to try and get people to turn away from them or think they are defeated. They think that is what things are about.

Part of that is they believe all power is perspective, so much of the narrative is to try to make opponents seem weak, that is why there are so many scarecrows, or pretend people for one side, that sink that side.

It is also to try and create feelings of powerlessness.

2. Like any mainstream (R), Mitch McConnell's dreams are petty, mean and unimaginative.
If he wasn't being told what to say, he'd have no opinion.

Don't hold your breath on repeal.

3. No, they can't bring something to a vote with under 60..
Right? I mean that's what we've been told for 2 years by Dems when they had 59 seats, right? So Republicans with only 49 seats would definitely not ever, EVER be able to get something to a floor vote, right?

I've said it before and I'll say it again if anything gets to the floor for a vote without 60 votes to do so I am done with the Democratic party. Completely done. I'm close enough as it is, but if their entire 2 years worth of excuses are proven to be a complete sham (I already know they are a sham but if they're so blatant as to pretty much admit it) then I'm officially done.

4. I do expect maybe a Dem or two(Joe Machin comes to mind), that could vote for it
BUt I see it going somewhere around 50-50 or 51-49 against ending debate. In either case, it shouldn't come anywhere close to 60 votes.

8. McConnell also expects Jesus to return, Betelgeuse to explode in 2012.
Because if he believes that one Democrat in the Senate won't place an anonymous and indefinite hold on that bill, then he's just as likely to believe that other silly bullshit, too.

9. Republicans have no problems saying anything that suits the situation
even if they know that tomorrow they will say the exact opposite. The rethugs tried to scream bloody murder about TARP, even though they created it, now that it's been less of a failure than it seemed, they are crowing about it.

Chinless bitch and his corporate masters insisted on the "Everyone must purchase insurance" provision, now they are touting that as a reason why the entire bill should be repealed.

10. On the upside
If the Democrats capitulate to the minority, no one can ever feel like they didn't do enough or feel guilt about not contributing to the DSCC or the DNC.
Telling them to fuck off when they make calls begging for our money to stop the Republicans will be well justified.

play the GOP game and have just one democratic Senator say NOPE.

It has worked for the past two years, right?

Right?

12. Has anyone in the mainstream media noted the glaring hipocrisy
of the Senate leader of the No Party, a party that blocked a record number of bills in the senate over the last two years from an actual vote, demanding an actual vote?

14. Sometimes I think this would be good idea
1. Keeps the Senate preoccupied on dead end legislation that will go nowhere and less time for other bad bills.

2. It gives Democrats another chance to highlight what is good in the bill (because they should have done this a year ago).

3. Would give Obama a West Wing moment to cast a dramatic veto in an ostentatious White House ceremony.

15. "Our Dems" will let it happen.
We are a one party country. Fascism. I don't see how anyone can say differently. The proof has been obvious since President Obama took over, but this goes back to (at least) Reagan. If FDR had revealed and prosecuted the elite who hired Smedley Butler for a coup, we might have been able to avert this. Will we ever admit or fight against it?

17. Wouldn't this be the perfect campaign ad in 2012?
Sinister voice over:

"Every single Republican in both the house and the senate voted to:
1)Allow insurance companies to make more money in profits than they use for proving care
2)Deny children health insurance "
And they did this while demanding that the super wealthy pay less taxes.

Vote for the party that cares about humans. Vote for the Democrat."

19. Of course
because their corporate masters told them to. If the GOP fought this hard for jobs I could somewhat respect them a little. Their intent is not creating jobs nor help the ecomony or the Americans who are not as well off as they are but to continue to try and grab power. Ya know, a one party system which in my eyes is total dictorship thru one major corporation probably the Koch Brothers.

Oh and the cutting defense is just a smoke screen. Corporate America needs its army when they start invading non Christian countries.

20. In one sense, I feel bad that I didn't take notice of how this
country operates until I was in the last half of my life. On the other hand, I maybe should take solace in the years of blissful ignorance I enjoyed. Each of us has a vote of equal stature, how is it that an elite few can command so many of those supposedly individual voices??? It's just like the imaginary gods so many put their trust in (not me, thank you). Believing the line that "they" know better than we do. I wanna say: "shit, people! Look around you. Where's the direct payback of the idiots you've handed to reins to??? You have to speak for yourself - not the "gods"!"
