Senate Republicans to Oppose Obama’s Spending Plans

The Senate’s top Republican, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, said on Sunday that his party will vigorously oppose the spending initiatives President Obama plans to include in his State of the Union address on Tuesday because “it’s not a time to be looking at pumping up government spending.”

In a video Mr. Obama sent to supporters on Saturday that gave a preview of the speech, the president indicated that he would seek to balance an attack on the deficit with increased spending in fields like education, research and technological innovation that he called crucial to long-term job growth.

Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Mr. McConnell countered that “The American public, as one pundit put it, issued a massive restraining order,” against government spending and excessive debt in November’s Congressional elections.

1. "The American People" now equals less than 25% of the populace

Amazing how they throw that phrase around. In the 2010 mid-terms less than 50% of electorate voted and the Republican's got less than 50% of those who did. Yet it's never challenged when people like McConnell explicitly imply some massive majority feels a certain away.

3. So far as I have seen

from the new Congress is still more of the same. No job creation. No fixing the economy. Instead this is their solution - kill the jobs that the HCR has and will create. Kill about 40% of jobs that are already in place with their cuts to economy with nothing to replace them. Take medical coverage for even more America with no replacement nor solutions. Make more homeless and hungry with no solution of helping neither.

Then with the help of the corporate media, blame Pres. O and the dems for it.

8. And once again, I'm expecting Obama will "compromise"...

He'll secure funding for the occupatio... er, I mean 'justifiable wars against terrorism.' And he'll compromise to ensure businesses such as Exxon Mobile, BP, Xe & GE will have to suffer little-to-no income-tax burden whatsoever.

However, for the nay-saying, dissenting Liberals; You'll have to pay more (not in higher taxes of course, but in lost wages for executive profits), and you'll be to blamed for our nation's failure in the war effort (even though most of you wanted to end the wars seven(7) years ago), and of course, your greedy (grand)parents are to blame for draining so much funding from Social Security.

Clearly there's only one solution: Increase the taxes on the poor and the Liberals. Give their earnings to the wealthy conservatives while blaming the Liberals for waging class warfare.....
