Pair of 17-Year-Olds Arrested in Cross-Burning
Pair of 17-Year-Olds Arrested in Cross-Burning
Updated: Friday, Aug. 1, 2003 - 1:20 PM EDT.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Two Maryland 17-year-olds are under arrest in last week's cross burning at an Islamic school in College Park.
One is from College Park, the other from Edgewater, in Anne Arundel County. Their names are being withheld because they are juveniles.

Both are charged with a violating Maryland's hate crime statutes. Prince George's officials say additional charges are pending.

Early on July 24, a 3½-foot tall wooden cross was doused with a flammable liquid and set ablaze on the grounds of the Al-Huda school and Dar-Us-Salaam mosque, at the intersection of Edgewood Road and Rhode Island Avenue.

6. I lived in that part of the country
...back in the day, and it is really part of the south in its conservatism. You bet these kids are from nice GOP families with good strong GOP family values.

These brats will get off with a slap on the wrist and some community service. Undoubtedly, they'll be running for office in another 10 years.

5. They'll See A Lot of Those Leaders In The Slammer
Haven't there been a lot of GOP politicians convicted of child molestation in the past few years?

8. Why are these fine lads being persecuted for Freeping?
Those poor Freepers are such an oppressed bunch.

My God, ya cain't even burn a cross on a (EXPLETEIVE DELETED)'s lawn without some liebrul coming along and arrest ya' for it.

So persecuted. Just like in the Media, where conservatives just cain't get a word in edgewise.

</sarcasm off>

Now, please excuse me while I vomit.

:puke: :puke: :puke:

There, that's better.

11. Prince Georges County Maryland
That explains it all. Seeing that their names were withheld because they were "juveniles" tells me that they are not minority. And oh, it was just a boyish prank. OTOH, minority kids in PG county get a bad rap every time...
