(SF) Mayoral hopeful Leland Yee gets racist death threats(linked to Limbaugh criticism)

Mayoral candidate and state Sen. Leland Yee said racist death threats were faxed to his San Francisco and Sacramento offices today. They appear linked to his recent criticism of right-wing commentator Rush Limbaugh.

The anonymous faxes, laced with racial epithets and misspellings, were addressed to "JoBama Rectum Sniffing Moron LEELAND LEE" and call Yee a "fish head," according to a copy provided by Yee's office.

The faxes include a drawing of a U.S. flag-adorned pickup truck towing a noose that is looped around what appears to be a caricature head of President Barack Obama. The document says: "Without exceptions, Marxists are enemies of the United States Constitution! Death to all Marxists! Foreign and Domestic!"

It also says: "Achtung! Fish Head Leeland Lee. Rush Limbaugh will kick your (insert racist and profane words here) and expose you for the fool you are."

Yee last week called on Limbaugh to apologize for mocking the Chinese language after Limbaugh used gibberish to mimic a speech by Chinese President Hu Jintao at the White House.

Hope they find this racist POS. Secret Service should investigate as well since it would also appear to be a threat against the president.

On edit here's the fax:

3. Connections to Palin and Arizona?
"Yee's office said the faxed threats are similar to messages Yee received in April after he pushed for the disclosure of Sarah Palin's speaking fee at California State University at Stanislaus.

The Pima County Sheriff's Office in Arizona recently contacted Yee regarding the April faxes and a possible connection to faxes found during the investigation surrounding the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Yee's office said."

4. Detectives in AZ shooting talking to State Sen. Yee

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Detectives investigating the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona last weekend are considering a connection to California Sen. Leland Yee, who received death threats for criticizing former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin last year.

Yee, D-San Francisco, received calls on Monday from sheriff's detectives in Pima County, Ariz., where Giffords was among 19 people shot outside a Safeway store. Six people died in the shooting but Giffords, believed to be the target, survived.

"We haven't been updated on if there's a connection," Yee's spokesman Adam Keigwin said today.

Keigwin said Yee's office received threats relevant to Giffords' investigation in April 2010, when the senator helped reveal that officials at California State University, Stanislaus shredded documents related to Palin's contract fees as a keynote speaker.

Pima County detectives are investigating if some death threats received by fax this spring by a California state senator might be connected to the Tucson shooting spree that left six dead and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords critically wounded.

A Pima County detective called Sen. Leland Yee's chief of staff on Monday to inquire about some racist faxes Yee received in March or April after he checked into payments made by a California state university to Sarah Palin for a speaking engagement.

Adam Keigwin, Yee's top aide, said he was surprised by the detective's call.

"I'm not certain if there is a definite connection" between the threats received by Yee and the Giffords case, Keigwin said. "He referenced that they are seeing similar faxes in their investigation. I think it has similar terminology. I don't know for sure, but he said they are getting very similar faxes."

5. I wish every death threat to every official was made public.
Though I expect it would overwhelm any system set up to deal with them, because I think there are many every day, I also think it would clearly point out the RW orientation and the effect of Limbaug, Beck, Palin et al.

7. Anonymous faxes?
Do people still use faxes these days? Also, don't faxes have an originating address (telephone number)? I have to believe there is Cheetos® stained trail that leads to a basement somewhere.
