As protests against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak continued Saturday in North Africa, Egyptian-Americans assembled across the United States to demonstrate their dissatisfaction for his regime.

In cities across the United States, crowds carried banners and flags and chanted slogans in solidarity with tens of thousands of those rallying at least 6,000 miles away in Cairo, Alexandria and other Egyptian cities.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the United Nations in New York on Saturday afternoon held up signs that read: "Mubarak Regime MUST GO," "Egypt's Struggle Is Our Struggle!" and "Egypt -- We Hear You!"

Meanwhile, they yelled out in unison, "Hey! Hey! Ho! Ho! Mubarak must go!"

Video 1:
On Saturday, January 29, 2011, at noon, an "emergency demonstration" was staged in front of the Egyptian Embassy, in Washington, D.C. It was organized by the ANSWER Coalition and a host of other activist groups in the area. According to the ANSWER Coalition's press release, the purpose of the rally was to "show solidarity with the Egyptian people" in their struggle to overthrow the "dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak," who has received for decades "$2 billion a year" in U.S. aid to prop up his "corrupt regime." This video features Brian Becker, National Coordinator of the ANSWER Coalition. To learn more, go to: http://www.answercoalition.org/national/news/emergency-demos-egypt.html
