Tuesday, May 03, 2011 08:32 +0900 (JST)A car bomb exploded near a police station in the Charsadda district of northwestern Pakistan, killing 4 civilians. It was the first terrorist attack since Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces in the country on Monday.
Police say women and children were among those killed and 11 people, including police officers, were wounded. They suspect that terrorists detonated remote-controlled car bombs, targeting the police station.
Islamic insurgents in Pakistan have pledged to attack security forces of the United States and Pakistan in retaliation for the death of the Al Qaeda leader.
The police are investigating whether the attack is related to the killing of bin Laden.
