1. Reminds me of a very sick joke

from back in the early 60's.

A black man was found dead with 9 bullet holes in his back.
The local sheriff called it "the worse case of suicide I ever saw"

2. Prior reports on this story

have discussed quotes by family members about his troubled state of mind, the use of a sheet or blanket from their own bedroom as a hanging noose, and video from the responding police car's dash camera showing the dead man's hands were NOT bound.

Unless these points are disproven, I don't see how his love life changes anything, nor how a KKK connection assumption is established. Jeb or no Jeb.

Early reports from neighbors had claimed the man's hands were tied, but the police took a video of them cutting the man down with his hands loose. I wouldn't jump to a conclusion, but it seems to need looking into.

A few years ago I went to a Gun and Knife show in Florida (The guy I was with was an antique gun collector) and I found a booth with KKK literature. I stood there and read every pamphlet although I refused to take one.

I'm a lettter carrier now and I remember delivering some packages to one of the head hunchos of the KKK. Sometimes they would let people know that there's a meeting by putting up signs in the streets as if there were a carage sale or something.

outside of Plymouth Indiana, there are a number of smaller towns, little burgs scattered around...and I drove thru there in the 90s...KKK was grafitti in big red letters, on stop signs and buildings..
any small rural place is loaded with these types...

attended a small , private college in Ohio, and I remember him telling me that the local KKK had dedicated money to the school, and had a plaque on the wall in the student union hall!

of an incident that happened a little over twenty years ago in a little town I used to live in...Mexia, 1981

During the 1981 celebration three young African Americans were arrested for possession of marijuana. The police officers insisted on taking them across the lake to the jail by boat instead of using the bridge. The boat capsized and the three young men drowned, all three police officers survived. Two of the young men were reported to be strong swimmers. As is so typical in America, the police officers were not found guilty and many excuses were made.

I went garage sale-ing one Sat. morning in this town, and found an old building way outside of the city limits that claimed to sell antiques. Inside, the man was selling pictures of KKK(men sitting together like a school picture), lynchings, etc...all proudly on display, scattered here and there next to his junk. That was in 1995.

16. When BIL was a cop in Brooksville, FL about 20 years ago,
