Anonymous hits Texas law enforcement

HACKTIVIST GROUP Anonymous has leaked 3GB of emails and sensitive data stolen from multiple Texas police departments in an action it has dubbed Texas Takedown Thursday (TTT).

This is the fourth major leak in the group's "Chinga La Migra" campaign and is in retaliation for the July arrests of 16 people allegedly associated with Anonymous and its actions.

"In retaliation for the arrests of dozens of alleged Anonymous suspects, we opened fire on dozens of Texas police departments and stole boatloads of classified police documents and police chief emails across the state," the group wrote in an announcement.

"For every defendant in the anonymous 'conspiracy' we are attacking two top Texas police chiefs, leaking 3GB of their private emails and attachments," Anonymous added.

A dump of emails obtained by the so-called “hacktivist” group Anonymous includes what appears to be insensitive and racist remarks by Friendswood’s police chief.

In the email, which appears at the very top of the Pastebin file, appears to be from Friendswood Police Chief Robert Wieners, sent via a Yahoo email account.

That stupid bitch who started that stolen car chase at Yale and 610 got what she deserved (I’ll bet she was fat and black too). Same with that pervert that got shot by the county. that guy, see ya. That all sounds like good police work to me. Those folks got the criminal cure. It’s guaranteed, they will never commit a crime again.

The email’s contents likely refers to a March 23, 2008, incident in which a woman driving a stolen car hit a retaining wall after a police chase and died.

The official denial is that the emails were in his email box someplace, but he didn't write them. They were sent to him.

Nick Haby, assistant to the Friendswood city manager, tells Hair Balls Wieners did not write any of the controversial e-mails.

"They were sent to him, I don't know if they were found in his inbox or in the trash, but he did not write them," he says.

Haby says he does not know if Wieners is the person who responded "How do you really feel:)" to the "stupid bitch e-mail.

The city will cooperate with the investigation into the statewide hacking. "Quite frankly, the chief is a victim of a crime here," he says.
