Australia's economy grows by 1.2% in the second quarter

Australia's economy bounced back in the June quarter as it looked to recover from floods and cyclones.

Gross domestic product grew by 1.2% in the three months to the end of June, the statistical bureau said.

That compares with a contraction of 1.2% in the first three months of the year, which was the biggest quarterly fall in 20 years.
