Al Gore confirms multiple iPhones coming
Source: CNET

Former Vice President Al Gore, of all people, is the latest to confirm that Apple will be selling multiple iPhones next month.

"Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug," Gore said today during the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in South Africa. The comments were reported by The Next Web.

Gore serves as a director on Apple's board, so is in a good position to know about the company's future products. The comments also jibe with increased chatter that the company would release two iPhones by the end of the year--an iPhone 5 alongside an updated version of the iPhone 4.

Totally satisfied. IPhone must suck, they come out with a new phone every 10 months.

12. there is nothing unique about the iphone, I hate to tell you, aside from marketing
I was in Europe when the iphone came out... it was seen as COMPLETE BACKWARDS AND PRIMITIVE!

Still seen that way, even more so with Android.

Name ONE feature, and i'll grant apps to an extent, and I'll tell you where it was used first.

13. They were the first one to be able to "flip" pages, change
the size of an image by pinching or expanding your fingers, incorporating a digital sound system, first one to have an Operating System in your FUCKING PHONE making it a real computer you could stuff in your pocket.

Innovative. Are you disputing that? If I'm wrong, tell me - I'm not married to the idea but all the stuff I mentioned (and more I can't think of) I was unaware of existing in this platform before the iPhone.

And I kindly didn't mentions the apps. :)

17. windows mobile (WinCE) has been around 10 years
and could do all those.
Phone have been true music devices since before the Sony Media phone (I have one in holland and the X1 which came out BEFORE the iphone)

The Sony phones had better speakers, and iirc, one model had bose speakers.

Windows mobile has had programs for the 10 years it's been around, and ALL OPEN SOURCE!

The pinch interface on the iOS devices is very nice, but it's because of capacitive screens - yes other phones had that first too.

I'm sorry but apple is nothing more than designer tech, and marketing.
Don't get me wrong, they're beautiful! they combine form and function masterfully well!

but it's not as innovative as the faithful are led to believe.

i've been around this industry FAR too long to believe all that rot.

Educate yourself.
Apple's are great, but not innovators in the way of phones or mobiles as they want you to believe.

Microsoft has been working on tablet technology for a V E R Y long time, predating WinCE I believe (wince was developed because 9x was too big)

Compaq's iPaq was an AMAZING bit of tech, imho the best PDA made. They were the innovators of high-end PDAs, as well as the first PDA to include a MOBILE PHONE module.

iOS 5 is actually a bunch of functionality the Android OS has had for over a year now. APPLE is the one playing catch up now.

I love my ipod touch (2g) it's great!
it's a nice replacement for a computer for about 70% of what I do (since I put gaming on the back burner). I like the larger tablets out there now.
I'm thankful to Apple for the marketing job they've done.
The industry is always improved by the kick in the pants apple gives it. . . but apple rarely invents, as much as it markets better!

the bullshit, I really like all my Apple products, and as of now, it has my loyalty.

Thanks for the education, though -- interesting!!

Multiple Android makers release multiple phones with mismatched OSs constantly.

The iPhone is the number one smartphone in the world because they concentrate on one basic design and make it the best.

I am pro-Android, but a better Droid comes out every few months. My Droid X is beyond obsolete. Bionic destroys it.

16. This octogenarian has used an i phone often as well as my trusty I pad 2.
Have always loved Apple products and found that they
are of excellent quality. Was in an Apple store today to
ask a question concerning skype on my i pad. Super service.

My phone just died on me. The screen would go blank. Calls came through but I couldn't call out or text. I jumped into the smart phone waters and hey, it's not so bad.

14. I think someone is reading too much into his words. Yes, there are new 'iPhones' coming...
...millons of them. If he had said 'iPhone models, then I would be interested.

And Apple would be very unhappy.

We will see a new model and the iPhone 4 will become the 'entry level' iPhone.

A Hell of an entry level, imo.

21. I'll stick with my old Nokia
I got it for nothing, owe nothing on it, pay $10 a month to use it and I have a $26 credit on it. I've had it for several years and recently found out you can even text on it. Who needs anything more with a damned phone I already have a good camera and a computer.

I have had both and I would rather have att, but really only for the talk and do things at the same time ability. Verizon does have the best service and they get the best android phones.

31. And we are just the opposite here...
Verizon never helped out until it was time to renew the contract...then they couldn't
call enough to see if they could help.

A T & T has been amazing and our bill has varied very little over time.

29. It's definitely coming to Sprint next month.
Which likely means we can get it through CREDO.

There was a fairly solid rumor that it would be coming to T-Mobile as well, which would put it on all four U.S. networks, but T-Mobile finally denied it just yesterday. I am 100% sure it is being worked on for them especially since AT&T is trying to buy them.
