Prince George’s Sen. Muse eying Cardin’s seat
Source: Washington Post

Maryland Sen. C. Anthony Muse (D-Prince George’s) announced Wednesday morning that he is considering a primary challenge next year against U.S. Sen. Benjamin L. Cardin (D-Md.).

Muse, an African American minister who was re-elected to a second term last year, told Baltimore’s WOLB radio host Larry Young that he has formed an exploratory committee and wants to “represent the voiceless” in the U.S. Senate.

“I’m very serious about this,” Muse said in an interview with The Post. “If I go out and find the support is there, I’ll move forward.”

Muse said he believes there is a void in the U.S. Senate when it comes to several issues important to him, including improving education for low-income children, reducing home foreclosures and curtailing U.S. involvement abroad.

1. Thats pretty much what Senator to be Warren is saying too
She's already stated she's running but their message is pretty much the same.
I'm all for both of them. He and She are saying what I've been thinking for years now

2. True but Warren, if she wins the nomination, is facing a Republican
Here, Muse is running against one of the most liberal members of the Senate. On each issue mentioned, Cardin's position IS to do something - the problem is that there are not 59 other Senators and enough Congressmen to do so.

It might be a good idea to look at the incumbent's record before deciding that a primary challenger is both better and can win the state.

4. Hi back to you
:hi:

Cardin is one of the most likely to be re-elected. I have watched him on some Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings and was impressed. Given the fact that we absolutely can't risk, what seems a definite win and the fact that he seems good, I really don't think this a good time - no matter how good Muse, who I know nothing about - might be.
