US urges China on Tibetan rights after monks' protest

The United States is urging China's government to respect the rights of Tibetans following an incident in which two teenage monks set themselves alight.

They were apparently protesting at the lack of religious freedom.

The incident happened at the Kirti monastery in Sichuan Province - the scene of a number of recent protests against Chinese rule.

The US state department says it is seriously concerned about this protest.

5. That may be, but with that attitude we will never have the moral authority

to do anything; because we dont have a credit rating so to speak. So with the options given, I will take us picking and choosing when to speak up for justice, and give us a path for us to gain moral authority, than giving up and letting the world burn because the only country in the world with the resources to save it doesnt think it has "moral standing" to.
